Undergraduates

Perhaps it is your first time coming to Leeds. Maybe you are a parent sending your teenager off to begin their first year of University. Either way, there is always an element of worry and excitement as these young people begin their independence. Luckily for you, Index House has you sorted. Our unique all inclusive package means you don't need to worry about paying bills, doing a weekly food shop, or even remembering to put the bins out. Your room rate covers everything Index House has to offer, with no extra or hidden charges - it's as simple as that!

International Students

Coming to us from afar? You can book virtual tours of the room spaces before you reserve it, meaning you choose the room that suits your needs before arriving in the UK. Index House caters for all, with help never far away. Plus with our international buffet, you don't need to worry about what you'll be eating during the week.

Applicants with Disabilities 

If you need any assistance or have specific requirements you will need to contact us before-hand so we can help make any necessary arrangements. The entire building is wheelchair friendly, with a lift stopping at each floor and ramps for exterior access.

 

Short Term Students

Our rooms can be rented for a fixed term, or for the whole year of study. Your arrival and tenancy term can be arranged with us, but we ask for this to be done a minimum of a year before you are due to arrive.

Postgraduates

Unlike some university accommodations, we won't evict you at the end of your degree. As a private establishment, we can guarantee rooms to any that apply (subject to availability). Everything remains the same in terms of the Index House package, with unlimited access to all of our facilities. Long term stays can be arranged before or during your initial stay, and will work on a monthly rolling package after passing your agreed fixed term contract.

As of 2022, the average price for a central Leeds flat is around £1013.00 PCM. That doesn't include council tax, bills and all of the other expenses. In comparison, our room rentals cover all of the above, plus includes breakfast and evening meals 5 days a week, unlimited access to the Health and Wellbeing centre, and all of the other perks included in the Index House package. Not only do you save money, but you are situated centrally in what is becoming the fasted growing tech hub of the north of England, with good transport links to neighbouring cities, and plenty of career opportunities for fresh graduates.

We are not just student accommodation. We expect many graduates will wish to stay in Leeds as it become the fastest growing tech hub in the north of England, and we wish to extend our offer of accommodation to anyone wishing to live in this great location. Our unique all inclusive package will be of a great benefit to anyone working in the city, especially with the price of living expected to increase over the coming years.

Our studio apartments are perfectly suited to any professional that wants to stay in the city limits, but want a fully self-sufficient space they can call home. Our fully furnished studio rooms are slightly larger, and better equipped than our standard rooms:

  • Clothes washing facilities on site

As a non-student, the tenancy agreements work slightly differently, and typically work on either a 6 or 12 month rolling contract. We try to cater for everyone however, and so if you have any special requirements please get in touch today.

Applications

 

  • Anyone can apply using our simple application form found here.

  • You can apply for multiple spaces if you have 2 or more people seeking accommodation, however we cannot guarantee connected room placements based on the first come, first served policy.

  • If you are applying on behalf of someone else, please stipulate in the application process your relationship to the person(s).

For Undergraduates

  • You must specify your term dates in accordance with your university course(s), as well as your end of school year.

  • If you wish to stay in your current residence going into your second/third/fourth year, you must re-apply no later than 6 months before your school year ends. 

  • Applications for September/October/November open in January of the same year. 

  • If you have any special requirements please send a separate email to info@indexhouse.co.uk

 

For Postgraduates / Professionals

  • Tenancy terms typically work on a 6 / 12 month rolling contract. 

  • Monthly rent(s) will remain fixed for your first 12 months of residence, but is subject to inflation rates thereafter in accordance with national APR (%) increase. You will be notified of any upcoming changes no later than 3 months before your fixed tenancy ends.

  • You can apply any time of the year, however we advise doing this as early as possible within the year to secure a room.

  • If you were an undergraduate wishing to stay on after finishing university, this can be done by the standard re-applying process (no later than 6 months before your school year ends). Missing this deadline could result in your room being given to someone else.
